Hard to believe, but Kermit the Frog is 50 years old this year. Starting life as a puppet controlled by Jim Henson on local TV in Washington, Kermit stayed with Jim through Sesame Street and on to his crowning glory, The Muppet Show.

He is the best singing talking frog in the world, next is Jean-bob from the Swan Princess, and then the frog from looney toons who wears a top hat!
